Hobbit Families: An Update!

Well now, gather ‘round, pour yourself a cup of tea (or something a touch stronger), and settle in—because we’ve dusted off the old family tomes and added some brand-new pages to the stories of our beloved Hobbits Hoedown families! These updated tales are here to help you feel even more at home in your Hobbit family, with richer roots, quirkier characters, and maybe even a dash more mischief. With tickets going on sale in a weeks time, we thought it only proper to make sure you’ve got all the information you need to choose the right family for you (and your character, of course!).
And that’s not all! This year, we’re also introducing a brand-new annual role to help bring each family even closer together: Family Heads. Each family now has two of these cheerful folk—invited by the organisers for their warm presence and the way they’ve gone above and beyond in previous games to make others feel welcome, included, and part of the magic. Think of them as your go-to Hobbits for support, character silliness, and stories. They’re here to help your family feel like just that—a family.
Tickets will be on sale Saturday May 10th at 5pm (Melbourne Time!)
You'll be able to access the tickets through the link that is scheduled to be emailed, posted and published on the website at exactly 5:00PM - make sure to set an alarm and have your characters family picked out.
FAIRMEADOWS

Where do the Fairmeadows come from?
The Fairmeadows live in the East of the County in the village of Blossombrooke known for its wildflower meadows and freshwater stream flowing through it. These hobbits' homes are built into the flowery hillsides, often featuring gardens growing carefully selected flower arrangements ready to be picked for their next house call.

BLUFFWATER

Where do the Bluffwaters come from?
The Bluffwaters live in the North of the County in the Hamlet of Mosswick in thatched roofed cob cottages, that may sometimes be built into the ground. Although most Bluffwaters live in their own cottage, these hobbits' homes are often built closely to one another. Many Bluffwaters will keep their own garden, with raised garden-beds or meticulously kept vegetable patches.

TALLOWS

Where do the Tallows come from?
The Tallows live in the West of the County in Oakenburrow, a forest where these hobbits' homes are burrowed in various oak tree roots underground. The oldest and biggest tree is centred in the middle of Oakenburrow forest and is a communal burrow for gatherings, music sessions and other special occasions, like a town hall!Â

HIGGLEBY

Where do the Higgleby's come from?
The Higgleby's live in the South of the County in Barkhollow, a warren that is somewhat like a communal underground longhouse with interconnected family dwellings. The warren has been built and expanded in a piecemeal and haphazard way, resulting in a patchwork construction with lots of recycled, repaired or repurposed things laying around and decorating the space.
