Dear delightful county folk,

An exciting day it is indeed to be announcing that our 2026 Hobbits Hoedown Family Head & Hobbit Helper role applications are OPEN. Aren't exactly sure what a family head or a helper role entails? Let me tell you in a fun dot point form as best to describe them to you!

What is a "Hobbit Helper"?

Hobbit Helpers are the backbone of our game, and this event simply could not run without their assistance. They are wonderful volunteers who, in return for their discounted ticket, agree to be scheduled on for shifts throughout the event undertaking various tasks. Helpers are required for bump in/out, catering assistance, cleaning assistance and even manning the post house - the list is as long as it is mixed.

Hobbit Helper Criteria:

Having attended at least one Hobbits Hoedown previously is preferred but not mandatory!
Must be available between Thursday 19th Nov - Sunday 22nd Nov
Can have been a hobbit helper previously

What is a "Family Head"?

Family head's are the cheerleaders for their hobbit family, there are two family heads per family as to share the workload. These are roles we've created in order to better assist new players and return in creating a wonderful welcoming social environment both leading up to and during the event. In return for a discounted ticket, family heads are expected to be active in the social media groups, attend 80% of the pre-event workshops, run at least one social gathering for their family before the event (online or in person) and be an overall friendly and inclusive person!
